CEO is not a job title. At least, not in our context. Whether we talk about the game OFMOS® Essential or the Five Business Big Pictures — our strategy framework — CEO means being in charge of your circumstances and strategizing at multiple levels as you pursue success. In a business-driven, AI-powered world, that is a skill that is becoming, well, essential.
And so, with OFMOS® Essential, we are celebrating human agency.
Over the past six weeks and seven newsletters, we made a series of arguments that looked separate: a new definition of strategy and why AI makes it urgent; business as a natural phenomenon rather than a human invention; the Human-AI level and extended cognition; why luxury brands run so hard to stand still; why network effects are innovation in disguise. They were never really separate. Each is a window onto one idea. The psychologist Albert Bandura called it human agency — being a producer of your life, not just a product of it.
In my recent TEDx talk I said, “Only you, whose existence is at stake, can handle your very own higher-level goals.” So, go ahead, Be the CEO®.

Before it is anything else, OFMOS® Essential is fun. Six actions. Nine pieces. Nine environments. Every turn, one decision — and every decision shapes what your opponents can do next. It is abstract like chess: no theme, no narrative, no specific industry to simulate. You can forget that the board models anything at all, and just play.

A game like this belongs in every home — played across a table, in person, no screen between you — because the capacity it develops is not a professional specialty. It is a human one.
